For this film my group and I decided to do a story in the horror genre. For the horror genre, camera angles are a big part of what makes the film scary. Angles like high/aerial shots, low angles or dutch angles. Sounds such as any sound effects or instrumental soundtrack also add to the suspense of the film. Lighting is one of the most important aspects of a horror film too. The lighting helps create the unknown, using dark colors creates this.
When creating our final product, my group plans on using some of these micro elements such as camera angles and lighting. Using dutch angles can create uneasiness or confusion and using high camera shots can show that the main character is the one with the less power in this story, making the main character vulnerable. Using saturated red can also create the sense of danger or fear. My group and I plan on using saturated red by using red filters/casts.
